ON JAPAN, MUJI & GOOD DESIGN
Dissertation for the BA Graphic Design course.

"...in order to understand Muji better it is necessary to look into its Japanese background and its deep roots of design values, which could be summed up into: simplicity, accessible to all, designed for every-day life and a strong and clear balance between functionality and aesthetics. Given that both Japanese design and Muji are frequently regarded as good design, it would be interesting to study the reasons for this as well as looking into what is actually meant when design is labelled as ‘good’."
